MAKEIAH MILBOURNE, GRADUATE ART THERAPY INTERN STUDENT

Creative Wellness Advocate

(She, Her, Hers Pronouns)

Makeiah Milbourne, originally from West Philadelphia, has always had a deep-rooted passion for art and fashion. She graduated from Immaculata University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising, with a Minor in Business and a Studio Arts Certificate. Currently, Makeiah is pursuing a master's degree in Community Trauma Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University.

In her therapeutic practice, Makeiah embraces a humanistic approach, providing a safe and nurturing environment for her clients. By incorporating her sewing skills and creative talents, she aims to explore innovative methods to facilitate healing through art. Her ultimate goal is to support adolescent young women who have endured traumatic experiences, including challenges related to body image, peer pressure, and complex family dynamics, among other issues.

Beyond her therapeutic work, Makeiah is deeply committed to advocating for her clients. She strives to create empowering spaces where they can not only heal but also flourish and evolve. With a strong foundation in Expressive Arts Therapy, Makeiah brings a unique blend of compassion, creativity, and expertise to her practice, helping individuals find their voices and express their emotions through various art forms.
