Playful Healing Facilitator: Nurturing Growth & Empowerment through Play
She/Her
Patricia (Trish) Gilbert, MS, is a Play Therapist at Sankofa Healing Studio who brings warmth, creativity, and deep care to her work with children, adults, and families. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University and her Master’s in Community Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University, building a strong foundation in both clinical skills and trauma-informed care.
Trish specializes in Play Therapy, a powerful and developmentally responsive approach that uses play as a language for healing. She also integrates EMDR and other evidence-based practices to meet clients where they are, helping them explore emotions, strengthen relationships, and build pathways to healing in ways that feel safe and accessible.
Deeply committed to equity in mental health, Trish advocates for expanding access to care for Black youth and communities who are too often underserved. She believes in co-creating nurturing spaces where individuals and families can reconnect with themselves, their strengths, and their capacity for growth.
With a steady and compassionate presence, Trish guides clients through challenges such as trauma, anxiety, family stress, and life transitions. She is dedicated to creating environments where children, adults, and families can feel supported, empowered, and encouraged as they step into healing and wholeness.
