Overview

Begin your journey of mastering Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy with our EMDRIA-Approved Basic Trainer.
This two-part immersive training—complete with 10 hours of required consultation—equips clinicians with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to integrate EMDR into trauma-focused practice immediately after completion.

Grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model, this training honors both the science and the soul of trauma work—bridging research-based protocols with culturally responsive and healing-centered care.

Training Format

  • 5 Full Training Days (Didactic + Practicum)
  • 5 Required Consultation Sessions (10 total hours)
  • Delivery Options: Fully online via secure Zoom or hybrid (in-person/virtual)
  • Training Hours: 50 total (meets EMDRIA standards for Basic Training)
    • 20 hours didactic instruction
    • 20 hours supervised practicum
    • 10 hours consultation

Participants must attend all five training days and all five consultation sessions to receive a Certificate of Completion.

  • Begin integrating EMDR into active caseloads under consultation.

Consultation Details

All participants must complete 10 hours of consultation to meet EMDRIA’s Basic Training requirements.
Consultation groups are intentionally small to ensure individualized guidance and case support. Participants are encouraged to bring active client cases for supervision and application support.

Consultations will be facilitated by EMDRIA-Approved Consultants affiliated with Sankofa Healing Studio.

  • Attend all training sessions (no partial attendance permitted).
