“"The Black woman stands as one of the most vulnerable and neglected individuals on this planet. She is akin to a solitary flower that grows without nourishment." This insightful statement by Kola Boof, a Sudanese American novelist, highlights the historical plight of Black girls and women who have endured centuries of criminalization, dehumanization, hypersexualization, degradation, objectification, and stereotyping.
Our focus lies in facilitating the healing of Women, Girls, and Femmes who have been impacted by trauma. We approach this task with a gender-responsive and trauma-specific approach, recognizing the therapeutic power of mind-body modalities in conjunction with artistic expression. By addressing the harm inflicted through the criminalization of complex trauma, we are driven by a profound determination to confront and dismantle the deeply entrenched racism present within educational institutions, child welfare systems, as well as juvenile and adult court systems.
